1960s Ercol refectory extending dining table with solid English elm top and beech frame

Ercol Refectory Extending Dining Table, 1960s

£3,500.00Price

A classic 1960s Ercol refectory extending dining table, made with a beautifully grained solid English elm top and distinctive beech frame.

The table has the strong sculptural form associated with Ercol’s refectory designs, with shaped beech supports beneath the warm elm top. The natural variation and flowing grain of the English elm gives the table plenty of character, while the extending design makes it practical for both everyday dining and larger gatherings.

The table extends from 137cm to 213cm, offering a generous amount of additional dining space when required.

A very attractive example of classic British mid-century Ercol furniture, combining practical design with the distinctive use of elm and beech for which the company is so well known.

Condition

Completely refinished in our Derbyshire workshop, including the solid English elm top and beech frame. The table is presented in excellent vintage condition, while retaining the character expected of an original 1960s Ercol piece. Please see the photographs for further detail.
