The Story of This Piece
This Ercol Model 954 Burford Extending Table dates from the 1990s and is made from English elm and solid beech. It features a substantial trestle-style base and three separate extension leaves, all of which store neatly inside the table when not in use.
This example was collected from Burry Port, Carmarthenshire, before being professionally refinished at the Retro Cactus Furniture workshop in North Derbyshire.
It was later sold by Retro Cactus Furniture and personally delivered to its new home in Badingham, Suffolk. The table’s triple-extension design makes it one of the larger and more versatile Burford dining tables from the period.
