The Story of This Piece

These 1960s Ercol Model 461 Windsor Stacking Chairs are the adult-sized Green Dot version, the largest in the range. They combine shaped solid elm seats with beech frames, curved back rails and splayed legs. Their construction allows the chairs to stack vertically for storage.

We collected the set in Montrose, Angus, Scotland, and refurbished the chairs at our North Derbyshire workshop. They were sold directly by Retro Cactus Furniture and delivered by us to their new home in Brighton, East Sussex.

Our photographs show the chairs individually and stacked together, alongside closer views of the elm seat grain, back rails and green size marking.
