The Story of This Piece
This 1960s Ercol Model 401 Butterfly dining chair was collected in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, and brought to our North Derbyshire workshop for refinishing.
The chair has a beech frame with an elm plywood seat and back. Its curved, butterfly-shaped backrest gives the design its distinctive appearance, while the open frame keeps its profile light.
After refinishing, the chair went to its new home in East London.
