The Story of This Piece

This pair of Ercol Model 369 Goldsmith’s Windsor Dining Chairs formed part of a matching set with two Model 369A armchairs.

Ercol documents the Model 369 in its 1956 catalogue as the Goldsmith’s Windsor Dining Chair. The design has a tall spindle back, shaped top rail and sculpted solid elm seat, with the chair frame and spindles made in beech.

The chairs were refinished in our North Derbyshire workshop while retaining the character of the original elm and beech. The complete set of four was later sold through Vinterior and delivered to Hackney, London.

These photographs show the actual Model 369 chairs handled and refinished by Retro Cactus Furniture.
