The Story of This Piece

We collected this pair of 1950s Ercol Model 391 All-Purpose Windsor chairs in Hanham, Bristol, before bringing them to our North Derbyshire workshop for refinishing.

The chairs have shaped elm seats with distinct grain patterns, supported by beech frames. Slender back spindles meet curved top rails, while stretchers connect the splayed legs beneath each seat.

Once refinished, we delivered the pair to their new home in Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire. Our photographs record the chairs from the front, rear and above, alongside closer views of the seats and backrests.
